The Taft-Pierce 6" rotary surface grinder was designed to produce the hig
hest standards of
accuracy, flatness, and finish. Specially developed to grind the plane s
urfaces of tools, gages, and
other small parts, this grinder produces rotary ground surfaces which are
flat to extremely close
tolerances. Slow and complicated tool set-ups are eliminated and grindin
g time reduced to a
minimum by the use of this Taft-Peirce precision equipment.
Exclusive features The Taft-Peirce tilting wheelhead adapts the machine
to the grinding of
difficult angle and shoulder work, swiveling in a vertical plane from hor
izontal to 30 degrees below
the wheel center and locking accurately in any position.
Mounted on pre-loaded precision ball bearings, the exclusive Taft-Peirce
work spindle permits
swiveling the chuck, forward to backward, through a 7-1/2 Degree angle fo
r the accurate grinding
of saws, cutters, gear shaper cutters, and similar applications.
Another exclusive feature is the specially designed Taft-Peirce Superpowe
r Rotary Magnetic chuck
for holding very small work in the center of the faceplate.
Full ball-gearing construction insures ease of operation, long life, and
undiminished precision of
the machine over an exceptionally long period of time.
