This machine is designed to use abrasive belts to apply a polished finish
to round tubular
products.
The tube is driven through the machine by rotating conical shaped rolls t
hat are coated with
urethane. Each wheel is driven by a 1/2 HP motor connected to a gearbox
that provides speed
reduction and torque.
The speed of the tube through the machine is determined by the angle at w
hich the rolls are
manually adjusted to contact the tube.
The abrasive belt is rotated by a urethane coated roll which is driven by
a 10 HP motor via a set
of pulleys and belts.
The belt is held in tension by a steel roll that is mounted on the end of
the air cylinder. This roll
is adjustable at an angle to facilitate belt tracking. Air regulators are
provided for tensions
adjustment.
The machine has four stations as described above. Each station has a con
trol box with the
following components;
* Start/stop switch
* Pneumatic tension on/off control w/pressure adjustment
* Emergency stop switch
* Ammeter for belt motor
An electrical cabinet with all electrical components and main disconnect
is supplied.
Twenty foot long height adjustable inlet and outlet tables are supplied.
Dust collection is accomplished by a cyclone type dust collector driven b
y a 10 HP motor.
Manifold piping to connect the polishing unit to the dust collector is pr
ovided.
