This machine is used to provide an "as buffed" (mirror) finish to round
stainless steel tubular
products.
The tube is driven through the machine by a urethane covered roll,one pe
r station. The roll is
rotated by a 3/4 HP US motors vari-drive motor and gearbox integrated sy
stem. A dial on the
system allows the operator to manually adjust the speed of the drive bel
t, and thus the speed of
the tube through the polisher.
The unit uses a set of wheels compacted onto a shaft to apply the finish
to the tube. The
aggressiveness of the polishing wheels decreases from head to head to ro
ugh, then fine finish the
surface of the tube.
The wheels are placed on shafts and then held in place by a nut. Rotatio
n of the shafts is
accomplished by 25 HP motors via a set of pulleys and belts.
A control panel is supplied, which allows the operator to start or stop
each head individually.
Ammeters for both the drive roll and polishing wheel motors are supplied
on this panel.
Electrical panels are included which contain all electronic components a
nd disconnects.
Twenty-four feet long entry and exit dump tables are supplied. The tabl
es are covered with carpet
on the entry and felt on the exit to preserve the mar-free surface.
Dust collection is accomplished by a cyclone type dust collector driven
by 25 HP motor. Manifold
piping to connect the polishing units to the dust collector is provided.
