Head Unit 10 HP, to 18,000 RPM, ISO30 "Quick Change" router spindle and

changing system (ATC) with a 10-tool computer controlled tool magazine mount
ed to the back of the
head. Supplied with ten (10) ISO 30 tool holders and ten (10) collets.

Automatic Tool Changing System
The Routech automatic tool changing system consists of a circular tool magaz
ine with (1) tool stations,
special ISO 30 quick change tool holders, and a locking device guaranteeing
secure seating of the tool
holder during tool changes. The unique Routech ISO 30 taper tool holder all
ows utilization of tooling
with shank size from 3mm (1/8") to 25mm (1") diameter by expandable collet.
The tool holder is seated
in the spindle taper and automatically locked by means of a unique locking d
evice designed to quickly
seat and firmly lock the tool holder to the motor shaft. A concentric tooth
ed ring on the tool holder
mates with a matching tooth ring on the ISO 30 quick locking device guarante
eing slip-free rotation of
the tool holder under machining loads.
The quick locking device also allows the use of Routech's special machining
heads (aggregate heads),
such as angular drilling heads, sawing heads, and multi-spindle boring heads
to accommodate complicated
machining operations.
Rotation of the spindle is both clockwise and counter clockwise with CNC con
trolled selection as a
standard feature.

Machining head carriage
The machining head has two independent movements, vertical and horizontal, t
o enable adjustment of
the head pitch and distance the work surface. The vertical movement of the
head carrier is CNC
controlled.
The machining head is mounted to THK roller bearing vertical slides for chat
ter free operation.

Worktable
The upper worktable is manufactured of aluminum and has 30mm spaced grooves
both lengthwise and
widthwise to accommodate rubber seals to vacuum clamp work pieces of any sha
pe. The threaded holes
(120mm pitch) are in a grid layout of the worktable enabling vacuum clamping
, anchoring of equipment,
and mechanical clamping systems. Vacuum cups (60mm & 120mm pods) can be ins
erted in the 120mm
pitched, threaded holes for workpiece clamping together with retractable (po
p-up) stops for referencing
to eliminate the need for spoilboards and templates.

Vacuum System
The vacuum hold-down system consists of a high delivery, high head pressure
vacuum pump linked to
a worktable CNC controlled double vacuum circuits enabling som
muler machining with
two (2) independent vacuum zones per table.

consists of CNC controlled pneumatic solenoid valves with quick coupling chu
cks for compressed air
lines.
Axis movement (X,Y, & Z axes)
Automatic lubrication of the ball screw assemblies and linear bearing blocks
are CNC controlled and
carried out according to recommended cycles in order to maintain lifelong pe
rformance and efficiency.
CNC controlled axis speed enables movement and cutting speed to be chosen ac
cording to working
requirements.

Control Unit
NUM Model 1040 (PC Based), Multi-axis CNC control. THe NUM 1040 represents
a state of the art
fourth generation CNC control unit, supplied with an extra large memory capa
city enabling a large
number of programs to be resident in the control unit at all times. The NUM
1040 is extremely easy
to learn and use as the unit seeks out programming and assists the operator
in correcting the program,
along with a color graphic video terminal which allows a visual check of the
work piece program as well
as the cutting tool path.
