CNC Retrofit & complete calibration 1999 by Usach Technologies, Inc.
The CNC 211 will be replaced with Fanuc 21i control which requires th
e
replacement of the motor flanges, motors and drives on the "X", "Y"
,
"U", and "Z" axes. The hydraulically driven "C" axis, planetary mo
tion,
high frequency drive for the grinding motors and the "W" axis will
remain the same.
CONT
The measuring system of the "X" and "Y" axes will be replaced with
Heidenhain glass scales since the existing measuring system will no
t
communicate with the Fanuc control.
As agreed, the existing hydraulically driven "Z" axis will remain the
same. The CNC drive on the "Z" axis will be replaced by a Fanuc mo
tor
and drive a new operator panel and Fanuc LCD monitor
with
keyboard.
SCOPE
Machine
The machine will be disassembled and thoroughly inspected for any w
ear
or damage. We will advise you of any necessary repairs or remachin
ing
or part replacement not coverd in the below described CNC replaceme
nt
and quote accordingly.
Guideways
Each guideway will be checked for wear. All lubrication lines will
be
drained and checked for proper functioning. Guideway gibs, where
present, will be readjusted to their original specifications. All
guideway covers will be replaced.
Drive System
The DC motors on the "X", "Y", "U", and "Z" axes will be removed an
d
replaced with Fanuc motors and drives. New ballscrews for the "X"
and
"Y" axes have been quoted as an option.
Measuring System
The measuring system of the "X" and "Y" axes will be replaced with
Heidenhain glass scales with a resolution of 0.00004". The "U" axi
s will
be a motor mounted rotary encoder. The "Z" axis moto
r will
be furnished with an absolute encoder system. The "X" and "Y" axes
will
be recalibrated with laser interferometer.
Headstock
The entire headstock will be checked for any wear of damaged parts.
We
will advise you of any necessary repairs for remachining or part re
placement
not covered in the below described CNC replacement and quote accord
ingly.
Hydraulically Driven "Z" Axis
The hydraulically driven "Z" axis will remain the same. All switch
es
will be checked and replaced if necessary.
