GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:
The Camstore 1 is a powerful shop floor computer intended primarily to exten
d the capabilities
of NC and CNC machine tool controls. The Camstore may function as a solid s
tate tape reader,
reducing downtime; as local edit and store memory, improving programming per
formance; and
as an interface node in a factory network, bringing all the advantages of el
ectronic
communication to the machine shop. In all areas, the Camstore 1 is a full m
ember of the
Camstore family of machine tool computers and is completely compatible with
all standard
hardware, including Behind the Reader interface cards. Such compatibility a
llows Camstore
family members to be interchanged for unrivaled flexibility in machine memor
y/edit/display and
network applications.
The Camstore 1 front panel consists of a full ASCII typewriter style keyboar
d with special
function buttons and a 9 inch green phosphor CRT display. The blue Mode but
tons allow instant
selection of the four main Camstore local functions Run, Load, Edit and Pu
nch. The red Edit
buttons command the four main editing functions Add Block, Delete Block, A
dd Character and
Delete Character. The CRT displays operator menus and a 14 block window on
the currently
active stored part program.
The side of the Camstore cabinet carries a four position key switch, control
ling AC power,
battery backup and editing security. The rear panel provides the standard a
rray of Camstore
connectors allowing the electrical and mechanical interchange of all Camstor
e family members.
The machine tool Behind the Reader interface and AC power connect to a Canon
type 19 pin
circular plug. And a serial computer link connects to the Remote DB25 socke
t, while a serial
or parallel peripheral may connect to the Local DB25 socket. A 2A fuse hold
er and fan filters
complete the rear panel.
