Northwood MC-158 Iron Horse CNC Machining Center with One (1) Spindle and Thirty Two (32) Static Tool Pockets
Construction
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Design engineering process utilized in entire machine design insuring maximum reliability.
The machine construction consists of a tubular steel weldment skirted with steel plating and cast- iron drive components for maximum rigidity allowing for superior machining performance.
All machine components are heat-treated (normalizing) or vibratory stress relieved.
One-piece heavy steel, moving bridge is reinforced by vertical and horizontal 4” diameter stiffeners. The bridge spans the machining centers fixed worktable.
The “Iron Horse” series Northwood Machining Centers with their extremely heavy-duty construction throughout insure machine stability, accuracy and superior longevity.

Lubrication
Automatic Grease Lubrication for X, Y, and Z axes.
DRIVE SYSTEM
The machine X, Y, and Z Axes drive systems consists of closed loop Fanuc AC servo motors powering precision ground ball screws with rotating compression nuts.
All precision ground ball screws are totally enclosed by bellows and all drive components are totally encapsulated within the integral cast iron drive housings.
Linear bearing trucks have wiper scrapers for maximizing protection against contamination on all linear rails.
